Experience
October, 2000 to May, 2001: Information Technology Director, Aurigin Systems
- Re-designed
the entire corporate and production networks from a highly unreliable,
un-scalable and un-maintainable architecture into a reliable, scalable,
switched VLAN topology utilizing HSRP, IBGP and EBGP for redundancy.
- Created
the first truly functional corporate Helpdesk in the company's history.
- In
association with the CIO, created and staffed an ASP data center to serve a
new 3.5TB data-mining product to customers over the web.
- Moved
the entire ASP data center (40+ servers and an entire Cisco network) from NM
to CA in one weekend with 0 customer down time when the business climate
changed and expenses had to be cut to meet reduced revenues.
- Created
the PBX and Call Center solution for the Customer Service group for both
legacy and ASP customers.
- Optimized
the company's telco services to realize savings of over $50,000/year.
- Hired,
managed and motivated a highly talented staff of 22. Obtained 100% staff
retention in spite of significant challenges in a difficult business
environment.

June, 1999 to October, 2000: Director,
Information Technology and Facilities, GetMedia
- Created
a robust e-commerce server solution using Cisco networking equipment and
Compaq NT servers. Created, coordinated, implemented and supported the
construction and development of the Production IT solution in 8 weeks.
- Created
an entire new corporate network, data center and PBX solution in 8 weeks.
- Facilities
lead for moving the entire company (50 people) from two different offices
into a new 21,000SF facility in 10 weeks.
- Responsible
for all telephony and data infrastructure, all tenant improvements to the
facility and numerous other build out details.
- Managed
a staff of five IT and two Facilities professionals. Managed 3rd party
service and product supplier contracts.
- Created
and influenced corporate processes and policies. Supported executive staff
in planning and executing difficult business critical decisions.
- Part
of the executive team that performed an orderly shutdown of the company when
the corporation was unable to raise additional funds.
November 1998 to June, 1999: IT

on deploying a wide variety of NT and UNIX integration solutions.

optimizing client IT investments.

client helpdesks, networks and server architectures for efficiency and

January 1995 to October 1998: Senior
System Administrator, CellNet Data Systems
- Helpdesk
Manager. Extensive vendor and user community interface. Provided 7x24 server
and network services support.
- Designed
and implemented a 300 node company wide conversion from Windows v3.x and
Macintosh to NT Workstation and NT Server. Managed $200K budget for
conversion.
- Created
all specifications for PC hardware and software standard configurations. NT
to Sun OS and Solaris UNIX connectivity specialist.
- Coordinated
and negotiated third party service agreements and software contracts.
- Associate
Program Manager for a 4 PCB design using Mentor schematic capture tools.
- Primary
liaison for the TRW fingerprint ID system installed at the San Jose
Police department using HP UNIX workstations networked to remote law
enforcement units via a WAN using 56KB DSU's on leased lines.

October 1989 to May 1992: Senior
Systems Engineer, Hughes Aircraft
- Operated
and maintained a Hughes Reconnaissance Systems Division intelligence ground
station asset. Responsible for a similar system in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
during Operation Desert Storm, receiving numerous letters of commendation
from both the US Army and Hughes Aircraft.
October 1986 to September 1989: Electronics
Technician III, EG&G Special Projects
- Duties
included collection, processing and recording of remote telemetry data via
fiber optic and microwave linked WANs using proprietary data gathering
computers.
September 1985 to October 1986: Field
Service Engineer, Business Product Services Inc.
- Responsible
for installation, maintenance and repair of numerous types of computer
systems, associated peripherals and networks. Responsible for development
and administrating maintenance contract agreements and new equipment sales.
August 1979 to August 1985: US
Navy Sonar Technician, Submarines.
- Advanced
AN/BQQ-5 Digital Sonar Set Technician. Achieved the rank of Petty Officer
Second-Class (E-5). Primary designer and manager of the ship's sound
silencing program, including the coordination of 11 on-board divisions.
