Spreader Bar
C3 Spreader Bar
A "spreader bar" connects the chassis at the A arms. It significantly reduces front end frame flex.
There are two styles of spreader bars generally available. For cars with a mechanical fan, there is a bar with the rod bolt tabs pre-welded onto the
attachment bar.
For cars with electric fans, it's preferable to install the un-welded
version, as you can dial in the position of the bar better. This is a very affordable modification to do. I purchased my weld up bar kit from
Ecklers
for under $70.

The spreader bar connects the two A-arms together
improving the chassis stiffness in the front end.
The tabs with the bolts are welded to the two
attachment bars, which bolt to the A-arms.

What it looks like installed.
Thanks to Dave Herlinger for welding up the tabs and installing the bar for me.
